<p><strong>October 21, 2008 (New York, NY)</strong> – While thousands of food products were showcased at the Natural Products Expo East this past weekend at the Boston Convention &amp; Exhibition Center, only one came away with the title of “Best New Product”: KIND Plus. The Mango Macadamia flavor of KIND Plus – the first new line of products since the launch of PeaceWorks’ original KIND Fruit + Nut Bars – was singled out at the massive tradeshow’s New Product Showcase as the best new food item. The contest was sponsored and officiated by the Natural Products Association and <em>The Natural Foods Merchandiser</em> magazine.</p>
<p>“Considering how many products were under consideration, we’re both thrilled and humbled,” said Daniel Lubetzky, Founder and CEO of PeaceWorks Holdings, the makers of KIND Fruit + Nut Bars.  “It’s an incredible honor to have industry leaders single out a KIND Snack as the best new food product at a show as large as Expo East.” </p>
<p>In addition to trade show awards, KIND’s growth and appeal has been recognized by leaders in the grocery industry through the press. <p>So it was with great reluctance that I closed my eyes and gingerly bit into an all-natural <a target="_blank" href="http://kindsnacks.com/">Kind Fruit &amp; Nut Bar</a> at the Fancy Foods Show last month.</p>
<p>And it was good.</p>
<p>Better than good. The <a target="_blank" href="http://kindsnacks.com/KIND-macadamia-apricot.html">macadamia apricot</a> is absolutely terrific and the <a target="_blank" href="http://kindsnacks.com/KIND-almond-coconut.html">almond coconut</a> was pretty yummy too. It&#8217;s pretty much just nuts, fruit and honey which means they&#8217;re gluten, wheat and dairy-free, and have a low glycemic index&#8211;making them a way better choice than a granola bar. You could totally tuck one into the kid&#8217;s lunchbox, but at $2 each this might be a treat better saved for you.</p>
<p>The company is cool too, donating profits to an org doing good things for peace in the middle east. I guess the idea is that everyone can come together over a fruit and nut bar -<em>Liz</em></p>

According to the social entrepreneur, the not-only-for-profit model means, “we don’t do anything that is not good business. <o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma; language: EN">We are striving to make the place a better world through best business practices and by being socially, politically and economically responsible corporate citizens.”</span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Tahoma; language: EN"></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma; language: EN"></span><span style="font-family: Tahoma; language: EN">His Middle East experience fresh in his mind, Lubetzky began with a basic economic principle that each party (Jews and Muslims) should share in an exchange and each bring something to the table that benefits the other. The son of a Holocaust survivor, Lubetzsky was born and raised in Mexico. “As a minority in Mexico City, I was very influenced by my father’s stories of the Holocaust,” he remembers. “I am motivated by the same fear that grips all Jewish people—that it could happen again.
